Qualifications

RM.RN. PhD (Public Health), Masters of Nursing (Midwifery), Diploma Allied Science (Nursing), Grad Diploma (Midwifery), Post Graduate Diploma in Child Health Faculty Nursing and Midwifery Certificate.

Tanya is also an Adjunct Professor in Nursing and Midwifery at La Trobe University and Deakin University.

Description

Tanya is a midwife and a nurse with extensive experience, expertise, management and leadership within health services, midwifery and nursing with a proven track record of an ongoing commitment to improving the care of women and babies, at a Victorian and national level. Tanya currently works at Western Health to support and lead a maternity service and its midwives and nurses during a time of rapid growth and reform.

Tanya held the role of Senior Maternity Advisor and Acting Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer for Victoria and was also the immediate past Chair of the Consultative Council on Obstetric and Paediatric Mortality and Morbidity (CCOPMM) and was the first midwife to hold this role in the Council’s 70-year history.
