We believe that every child should have access to flexible, responsive services.
Early Childhood Intervention Services (ECIS)- previously known as BIG Steps at DPV Health is a program for children with a developmental delay or disability and their families. We provide Key Worker specialist support to children from 0-7 years utilising National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) funding. We also provide Department of Education Continuity of Support Funding (DET-COS) for children from 0 years of age to school entry.
The approach we use aims to:
- EMPOWER families through timely support and skill-sharing.
- BUILD you and your child’s confidence and capacity, utilising a strengths-based and family-centred approach.
- FOCUS on individual support for your child and family, utilising your child’s skills and interests together with thoroughly researched evidence-based practices.
- EMBRACE diversity and cultural competency.
What we do
- Evidence-based, early interventions for (0-7 years of age) delivered by a Key Worker.
- Further information on the Key Worker Model can be found here
- Group Therapy (0-12 years of age): Our Groups Program Focus on building skills and achieving developmental goals in a fun shared learning environment.

How it works
Key workers do home visits to help build your child’s daily living skills. They give you the information, resources and support that you need to help your child learn, develop and reach their goals.
Key workers can also visit in a chosen community location or at Primary School, child care, preschool, kindergarten and before or after school care.
Our services can include:
- Specialised small groups at our centre
- Individual sessions at our centres
- Home visits
- Childcare and kinder visits
- School transition support
- Parent education on topics such as autism, behaviour, communication and toileting
