To discuss making a referral to the Paediatric Speech Pathology service, please contact our Intake Team on 1300 234 263.
We also accept referrals from your GP, paediatricians, specialists, Maternal and Child Health Nurse or other health professional, Early Years educators, carers or family members. All referrals must have parental consent.
Health professionals are requested to send referrals by:
- E-referral via Connecting Care
- Fax 8339 9898 for City of Hume Locations
- Post to PO Box 197 Glenroy 3046 for City of Hume locations.

Our service helps children with speech and language difficulties but, if a child is also experiencing difficulties in other areas (such as balance, behaviour, motor skills and self-help skills) they may require referral to a specialist Early Intervention Service or the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).
Wait lists may apply and priority is given according to identified needs.
The following information is required at the time of referral:
- Child’s name
- Child’s date of birth
- Current address and telephone number
- Parent/caregiver name/s
- Reason for referral
- Any other relevant information
An interpreter service is available at no extra cost.
