The DPV Health service of Healthy Mothers Healthy Babies supports pregnant women in Hume and Whittlesea

The aim of the service is to improve the health and wellbeing of mothers and their babies. This service assists pregnant women to improve access to antenatal, postnatal and other human services that support and deliver health promotion messages through women’s pregnancy and beyond.

The service offers pregnant women:

• Social and emotional support
• Education (birth and breast feeding)
• Community connections
• Advice for referrals
• Links to helpful community groups and services
• Connection to Maternal and Child Health Nurses
• Advocacy advice and support
• Home visits
• Personalised one-on-one service
• A nurturing approach to caring and support pregnant women

Our social workers and midwives can help you to create a holistic, individual goal-setting plan that assists and supports your needs – all from the comfort of your own home.

We are also trained to support women with the following challenges:

• Family violence
• Drug or alcohol issues
• Isolation and lack of support
• Pre/postnatal depression or anxiety
• Mental health issues
• Young mums (under 21 years) with pregnancy concerns
• Women living with a disability with pregnancy concerns
• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders with pregnancy concerns
• Women who do not have access to ante-natal care
