Breaking News: Dianella Health and Plenty Valley Community Health Merger Confirmed

Dianella Health and Plenty Valley Community Health Boards are pleased to announce that the organisations are merging.

On 7 August, Dianella Community Health and Plenty Valley Community Health Boards signed a formal and legally binding agreement to merge. This decision was reached following months of deliberations, thorough analysis and hard work.

A period of significant planning will now commence to lay the foundations for a smooth transition into an efficient and productive combined organisation. The merger represents an exciting period of growth for both organisations. More importantly, it is a proactive move to improve services in northern metropolitan Melbourne and for the combined organisation to continue to service the growing needs of the community.

Both organisations are committed to keeping the balance of services and programs between Whittlesea and Hume about the same. Staff and clients will be consulted about any proposed improvements to services in 2018, well in advance of any changes.

The merger is expected to increase accessibility and services for the community and will see an increase in the number of staff employed as services grow. However, no substantial changes to the way both organisations operate are expected until mid-2018.

“The merger will not only benefit both originations but also the community. We are committed to increasing our services”, says Neil Cowen, CEO of Dianella Community Health.

“This is a very exciting time for community health in the North and I look forward to the opportunities that will now arise for the merged organisation”, says Phillip Bain, CEO of Plenty Valley Community Health.
