- Services & Therapies for Children & Youth
At DPV Health, we believe great care for children and young people starts with trust, feeling heard, respected and supported in ways that truly matter. Our Child and Youth Services are built on strong relationships, listening carefully to each child or young person, and working closely with families and carers to provide inclusive, people‑first support.
Our experienced NDIS team provides flexible supports that help children and young people build independence, strengthen social connections, and support their health and wellbeing, now and into the future.
Our Services
DPV Health’s Early Childhood Intervention Service (ECIS) provides NDIS-funded early childhood intervention supports for young children with developmental delay or disability, and their families, under the NDIS Early Childhood Approach.
We work in partnership with families to build children’s functional skills, independence, and participation in everyday activities, focusing on what is meaningful to each child and their family.
We also support parents and carers to build capacity, confidence, and skills to support their child’s development within daily routines and environments.
DPV Health is a registered NDIS provider and welcomes families from all cultures, languages, faiths, and family structures. We are committed to inclusive, respectful, trauma-informed, and culturally safe practice, in line with NDIS Practice Standards.
How we can support you and your child:
Our ECIS supports are individualised, strengths-based, and outcomes-focused, and may include:
- Building everyday functional skills such as communication, mobility, play, social interaction, and self-care through individual and group-based supports
- Supporting children to participate meaningfully at home, kindergarten, childcare, school, and in the community
- Strengthening family capacity through coaching, modelling, and practical strategies embedded in daily routines
- Working towards identified NDIS goals and outcomes outlined in a child’s NDIS plan
- Providing evidence-informed early intervention that supports development and participation over time
- Therapy and support are play-based, developmentally appropriate, and delivered within natural environments. Supports may be provided individually or in small groups, giving children opportunities to learn and practice skills alongside peers in a supportive environment.
Our Approach: The Key Worker Model
- We use a Key Worker model consistent with best practice in early childhood intervention and the NDIS Early Childhood Approach.
- Each child and family is supported by an allied health practitioner (Key Worker) who builds partnerships, supports goal setting aligned with the NDIS plan, and coordinates transdisciplinary input as required.
Who are we & where we provide support
- Supports are delivered by a transdisciplinary team which may include Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Physiotherapists, Specialist Teachers, Art Therapists, Music Therapists, and Exercise Physiologists.
- Supports can be delivered in natural environments including the family home, kindergarten or childcare, school, and community settings. Interpreters can be arranged.

Our Group Programs focus on building skills and achieving developmental goals in a fun and shared learning environment. Group programs are valuable and well accepted support, helping children & young people to feel more engaged in their communities and make social connections outside of early education or school.
- Groups can provide a space for children & young people to develop targeted skills in a smaller, less overwhelming and highly specialised environment.
- Young people can access a range activities to build skills such as communication, social, play and movement skills
Group programs will vary across our sites and will be dependant on interest.
We Like to Move It (ECIS)
This group aims to help children learn and discover new ways to move with music. To help build strength and balance, emotional regulation and communication skills through meaningful interactions and dialogue. Children will learn how to get along with others, follow verbal instructions in a fun and musical way.
School Readiness Program (ECIS)
This group aims at supporting children to be school ready by assisting them in improving their communication, social, cognitive, motor and resilience skills through meaningful interactions and dialogue. Children will develop the skills necessary to get along with others, work together in a team, follow verbal instructions and most of all, have fun!
Happy Eaters (Parents and/or caregivers of children aged up to 12 years)
This group will involve three 1-hour workshops for parents and/or caregivers. The aim will be to gain a better understanding of feeding challenges and provide practical strategies to implement that work towards developing more happy mealtimes and curious eaters. This group will provide an opportunity to meet other parents, share ideas and upskill together.
Strength Foundation (Youth Program)
Participation in exercise is important for young people as it allows them to improve their strength and fitness and sets them up for healthy lifestyles as they grow older. The group will allow participants to learn about how to safely use various pieces of exercise equipment, improving their muscle strength and endurance, emotional regulation and enhance feelings of well-being in the process.
Open Studio (Youth Program)
Open Studio is an evidenced-based therapy approach that is accessed in groups and perfect for young people. Participants enter a therapy space set up with materials for each person. Participants chose what materials they use, and how they engage with them. The Art Therapist will offer a prompt or theme and individuals can decide if the theme resonates with them. Creating and making art in this group way helps young people explore their identity, regulate their emotions, and connect with others.
Cooking Club (Youth Program)
This group will involve four 60-minute interactive workshops for young people. The aim is to support skills development to prepare quick, nutritious and delicious snacks and simple meals. This group will provide an opportunity to meet others, socialise and work towards independence goals

Voices of our clients
“We’ve been using DPV Health services for about a year and a half. When we first came, our children were significantly delayed, so our maternal and child health nurse recommended we get in touch.
Our experience with DPV Health has been absolutely amazing, truly top-notch. They have been wonderful with the boys, and we’ve felt so supported throughout the whole journey.
It’s been incredible to see them flourish. I’m very grateful for everything she and DPV Health have done for our family, and I would highly recommend their services to others seeking support for their children.”
