DPV Health is delighted to announce the appointment of their new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Don Tidbury.

Don joins DPV Health from Macedon Ranges Health (MRH), an award-winning regional provider of primary care, disability services, welfare, home care and residential aged care services.

Don’s crowning achievement at MRH was reinvigorating the organisation to become a key health provider in the region, ahead of its successful amalgamation with Benetas – Victoria’s leading not for profit aged care provider. His stewardship of this complex process gives Don vital experience in providing oversight of DPV Health as it continues to consolidate its position as the premier primary care service provider in Melbourne’s north, the result of a merger between Dianella Health and Plenty Valley Health in April 2018.

“I am honoured to be joining DPV Health during this exciting phase and look forward to working with our Board, partners, and over 600 staff and volunteers to achieve better health and well-being for the diverse communities we serve” said Don.

Don is an experienced health care executive who has worked across the public health and not-for-profit sectors, possessing extensive experience across hospitals, community health and residential aged care.

DPV Health CEO Don Tidbury and DPV Health Board Chair Margaret Douglas with outgoing CEO Dr Neil Cowen.

DPV Health was motivated by Don’s strong record of supporting organisations to achieve major improvements in service delivery, culture, clinical governance, financial performance and stakeholder engagement.

“This is an exciting time for DPV Health as we leverage the great opportunities of the merger which will support service growth and innovation across Melbourne’s Northern Growth Corridor.” Margaret Douglas, Chair of the DPV Health Board said. “Don’s practical experience, expertise and highly developed leadership skills will be invaluable in continuing to build the DPV Health brand across the cities of Hume and Whittlesea.”

Don takes over from Dr Neil Cowen who has recently retired as DPV Health CEO after an extensive career in healthcare.
