Men’s Behaviour Change Program

Is your behavior hurting others?

We will help you to overcome feelings of loneliness and isolation, and to understand what causes family and domestic violence.

Family violence is a serious issue in our community and it affects the whole family. We understand that you want the best for your family so we help support them, as well as you, while you are in the program.

We will assist you to understand your controlling and coercive behaviours, the causes and impact of family violence, make changes to be a better partner/ex-partner or father, overcome feelings of loneliness and isolation, and support your community inclusion.

The Men’s Behaviour Change Program (MBCP) is an intensive and supportive group working over a 20 week period.

This program is suitable for men who want to identify, understand, and take responsibility for their abusive behaviours. It is an opportunity to learn new ways to deal with anger without violence, and enhance self-control, self-care and the safety of your partner and children.

Our staff members are professional social workers and qualified counsellers who will help you to break patterns of violence and abuse. They will provide you with strategies to manage feelings, stress and anger in a non-violent way, and support you to create healthier and safer relationships in your life.

Taking Responsibility is a supportive session for men to learn about the MBCP program, to take a positive step towards developing respectful relationships and healthy communication, and to learn more about relevant local services.  Taking Responsibility is a requirement for the MBCP assessment and MBCP group work.

We embrace diversity in race ability, religion, culture, gender and sexuality.
