Smiles 4 Miles is an initiative of Dental Health Services Victoria and is implemented locally by DPV Health. The aim of the program is to improve the oral health of Hume and Whittlesea’s preschool aged children and their families by encouraging healthy eating, healthy drinking and good oral hygiene.

In 2020, there are 50 early childhood services participating in the Smiles 4 Miles program in Hume and Whittlesea city council areas. Don Tidbury, CEO DPV Health said, “Good oral health is essential to people’s overall health and wellbeing, and we also know that good habits are learned early in life. That is why DPV Health is encouraging good oral health habits with the youngest members of our community and their families. It is fantastic to see nearly 5500 families across Hume and Whittlesea participating in this important health and wellbeing initiative.”
