Media Release- Flu Vaccination

Avoid the flu this flu season. 

Flu shot is available at DPV Health COVID Vaccination Hubs and Medical Centres 

DPV Health is offering flu vaccinations at its COVID-19 hub, COVID-19 pop-up locations and DPV Health medical centres in Broadmeadows and Mill Park. 

As the weather gets colder and COVID-19 restrictions continue to ease, there is concern that Victoria is in for a severe flu season this year. Following advice from the Department of Health, DPV Health is recommending that all Victorians receive  the flu vaccination. 

Dr Hegarty, General Practitioner at DPV Health had this to say; “After 2 quiet flu seasons, we are expecting to see lots of cases of influenza this year (there were more cases last month than for all of 2020 and 2021).” 

The best protection against getting the flu is the influenza vaccine, and all children, teenagers and adults at risk of serious illness from influenza should have an annual flu vaccine. 

DPV Health is well stocked with the flu vaccine; and it is available from the vaccination Hubs and the Broadmeadows and Mill Park medical centres. 

I had my flu shot last month (as I do every year), and I strongly recommend it to everyone who is eligible. 

How to get your Flu vaccine.

The flu shot is available at the DPV Health COVID-19 hub (Hume Global learning Centre- Broadmeadows) and pop-ups by simply walking in, or at the DPV Health Medical Centres in Broadmeadows or Mill Park by making a booking online or over the phone. 

If you are coming in to DPV Health to receive your COVID-19 booster, you can also receive your flu shot at the same time. The flu shot can also be administered during other consultations with your preferred general practitioner. If you have any concerns please consult your doctor in advance.
