Join our Community Advisory Network and make a difference

The DPV Health Community Engagement and Participation Program – Enables client and community voice in service development at DPV Health. 

We aim to engage and raise the voices of all people with lived and living experience, including the most hardly reached, in our community. Our program provides flexibility, accessibility, and a variety of options to allow community to connect and participate in a way that suits them. 

Your voice, participation, and your connections, will help us to build relevant and valuable services for your community.  It will also provide a critical communication link to receive and deliver key healthcare messages through your network and improve education and awareness of healthcare issues. 

Who can join?

If you live, play, or work in the DPV Health catchments areas of Hume, Whittlesea or Mitchell Shire Local Government Areas you are welcome to apply. 

We are looking for people who share our passion to improve healthcare outcomes for our community and have valuable lived experience in healthcare issues and/or are part of priority communities, including: 

• Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples,  
• Culturally and linguistically diverse people,  
• Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Intersex and Queer (LGBTIQ) Community Members,  
• People with disability,  
• Gender equity,  
• Children and Youth, 
• Senior Citizen 
• Low-socioeconomic status 
• Sleeping Rough,  
• People with Mental Health Conditions,  
• Regional and Growth Areas,

Opportunities:

• Represent your community by being a leader 
• Be informed and educated on key healthcare issues via DPV Health Community Advisor communications (email and SMS) 
• Be aware of  client and community participation opportunity activities 
• Participate in focus groups, surveys, committees, or projects on specific topics you are interested in 
• Be invited to provide comment on new DPV Health frameworks, strategies and policies 
• Be invited to free training 
• Have your say, and provide insight into what is important to you and the community, including ways to make our services more user-friendly 
• Provide feedback on our brochures, publications and other communication

• Participate in service planning, design and evaluations
