We help to support positive behaviour, learning and development.
Our team members work with children aged 0-6 years and their families/carers on issues relating to behaviour, relationships, emotional wellbeing, learning and development.
People are most frequently referred to a Development Psychologist for parenting support, behaviour management, managing emotions, developing social skills, developing play and learning skills, and developmental assessments.
How can a Developmental Psychologist help you?
They can assist children and families to increase the frequency of positive behaviours, promote independence and self-help skills, promote healthy social interactions and emotional resilience, and promote play-skills and learning.
We provide the following services:
- Individualised assessment (through interviews, questionnaires, observations, and standardised assessment)
- Parent sessions and support
- Therapy (individual and group)
- Information, education and resources
We are experienced in providing support to children who require long-term therapy, have a diagnosed disability, experience a delay in two or more development areas, or equire a referral to specialist Early Intervention services. Children who have a history of significant trauma or dangerous behaviour may be referred to more specialised services.
This is a free service.
Who can use this service and how to make an appointment
This service is for children aged 0-6 years and their families/carers. We accept self-referral, GP/Hospital or Maternal Child Health Nurse referral.
