DPV Health on The Voice

DPV Health supports a First Nations Voice to Parliament enshrined in the Australian Constitution.

DPV Health’s vision is for a healthier and connected community, with excellent care for all. In alignment with our vision and values of Inclusion and Collaboration, DPV Health recognise Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the first peoples of our land. Their languages, cultures, lores, customs and continuous connection to country has existed for over 60,000 years and must be valued and celebrated. DPV Health celebrate and cherish the important contribution First Nations peoples have made to our community. DPV Health acknowledge and pay our respects to the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung People of the Kulin Nation as the Traditional Owners of the land, and waters where our service is located.

An inclusive culture is one where everyone feels valued, respected, and is able and encouraged to fully contribute. As a trusted and inclusive community health service, DPV Health are committed to improving social and health equity for our communities and as such, support a First Nations Voice to Parliament enshrined in the Australian Constitution. The Uluru Statement from the Heart invites all Australians to recognise the sovereignty, strength and pride of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders and to work together for a better future.

DPV Health have followed the call of the Uluru Statement of the Heart and listened to what our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community and staff have requested; Our steadfast support for constitutional reform, which enshrines Aboriginal and Torres Strait self-determination. The Voice achieves this and provides an essential step towards genuine and long-lasting reconciliation. DPV Health, envisions a future where the health and life outcomes gap are closed and where cultures, histories and rights of First Nations people are acknowledged and valued by everyone in our community, forming a proud part of our shared national identity.

DPV Health commits to sharing information to assist our communities to understand what the Voice to Parliament will mean for our collective future, and respect the right for all our staff, partners and stakeholders to speak freely and respectfully about their views on the Voice to Parliament. In what will be an important decision for Australia, First Nations people and reconciliation, DPV Health encourage everyone to participate in the referendum.
