DPV Health is delighted to launch the “DPV Health Strategic Plan 2022 – 2027”

Over the last two days, DPV Health’s Board & Executive conducted a range of events to herald the launch of the “DPV Health Strategic Plan 2022 – 2027”.

Three events dedicated to employees, community representatives and industry stakeholders were conducted to share the key highlights of the plan, which include a focus on four distinct pillars:

  • Clients, Families & Community
  • People, Capability & Culture
  • Excellence, Systems and Infrastructure
  • Growth, Sustainability & Partnerships

The new plan also celebrates DPV Health’s new vision “A healthier and connected community with excellent care for all”.

Fundamental to the plan is the objective for DPV Health to be an industry leader in the planning and delivery of innovative, person-centred health care across the diverse communities of Melbourne’s North, recognised for achieving a significant positive impact on community health and wellbeing.

“Consultation with our people, clients, community advisors, partners and other stakeholders has been an integral part of the strategic planning process”, said DPV Health CEO, Don Tidbury. “DPV Health has invested in and prioritized the understanding of our community’s health and wellbeing needs.”

“Most importantly, the plan places DPV Health’s clients, and their participation in their own care, at the centre of everything we do. It also recognizes our people continue to be our greatest asset,
acknowledging their engagement, contribution, and wellbeing are essential to our shared success.

Finally, the plan prioritises collaboration to leverage the strengths and capabilities of our wonderful partners and the great outcomes our organisations will achieve together.” Don Tidbury CEO said “the DPV Health Strategic Plan 2022–27 presents an exciting way forward, that will consolidate the organisation’s position as an industry leader in the provision of impactful, innovative, person-centred health and community services across Melbourne’s North”.

DPV Health thanks the community for 200,000 Covid-19 tests

DPV Health reach 200,000 COVID-19 tests

28th of April, 2022

The DPV Health COVID-19 Testing Team has reached an outstanding milestone, providing an incredible 200,000 PCR tests to clients across Melbourne and Regional Victoria since June 2019. The COVID tests have been delivered primarily through the Mernda testing hub which was relocated to several destinations throughout the 2-year journey, with the destination settling at Mernda Train Station.

Supporting the main hub has been two permanent DPV Health medical centres and 3 mobile teams: the Rapid Response team, the High-Risk Accommodation Response team, and the Rapid Response Community Engagement teams. Collectively with their agile and customised approach, they were deployed to over 100 pop sites, including 5 regional hotspots, ensuring that all residents within Whittlesea, Hume and beyond, received extended access to PCR tests, and limited the spread of COVID-19.

The DPV Health covid-19 testing team navigated unknown waters adapting to changing circumstances and regulations. At its peak, the Mernda testing hub conducted upwards of 600 tests each day, with the team and traffic control crews managing extended queues that would wind around the streets.

“This milestone has been achieved through hard work, compassion, dedication, and resilience by a team that has shown exceptional commitment to the service. The Testing Team or commonly known as our COVID warriors, have been serving the community in an ever-evolving COVID-19 climate, braving the weather, working with industry partners, and at times travelling hundreds of kilometres to deliver excellent care, service, and support to our communities. I can’t show enough appreciation for the amazing work of our team and our community.” said Don Tidbury, DPV Health CEO. The testing team have been able to work together in collaboration with The Department of Health, IPC, EACH, STAR and COHEALTH to set up pop up sites around Melbourne and regional Victoria, ensuring that testing services have reached our most vulnerable communities.

Kylie Rhook, DPV Health’s General Manager Primary Care had this to say “In collaboration with the Department of Health other community health organisations and a wide range of community organisations and groups, DPV Health played an integral role in developing resources and processes required for testing and engaging with the community. We take this opportunity to extend a huge thank you to the amazing clinical team, administration staff, security and traffic control who all contributed to the success of our program. We would also like to acknowledge what an honour it was working with the ADF (Australian Defence Force) initially who contributed their ideas, knowledge, and support in developing a successful process of testing. Last but certainly not least, we would like to thank our remarkable community for their continuous support in reaching this milestone.”

To celebrate the milestone DPV Health arranged a thank you morning tea to its testing teams. Andrew Mason, Emergency Management Manager at the City of Whittlesea visited the DPV Health Mernda testing site to offer their kind words on behalf of the City Of Whittlesea. “Council is pleased to work with DPV Health on a range of health programs, including supporting recent vaccination programs. The number of tests completed at Mernda is a testament to both the hard work of the DPV Health team and our staff and also to the commitment of the City of Whittlesea community in showing up to get tested when they have COVID symptoms. It’s been a tough couple of years so I’d like to thank our community for doing the right thing and taking care of one another,” said City of Whittlesea CEO Craig Lloyd.

DPV Health continues to lead the way in offering excellent care for all. For more information on DPV Health and its services head to dpvhealth.org.au.
